IB Courses
Overview of the IB Program
The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is a global educational initiative offered by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to students aged 3 to 19. It is designed to foster comprehensive development in intellectual, emotional, personal, and social skills, preparing students for a range of challenges in their learning, work, and life.
Diploma Program Structure and Subject Groups
The core of the IB Diploma Program includes six subject groups: Studies in Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts. Students are required to take one course from each group, with each course available at Higher Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL). They must complete three courses at the Advanced Level.
Core Curriculum and Holistic Development
The IB curriculum is rounded out with three essential components: the Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS). These elements encourage students to develop their knowledge, thinking, research, and social responsibility. The IB's balanced approach aims to develop not only academic abilities but also a global perspective, enhancing personal growth and competitiveness in future careers.
Scoring
The total score for the IB International Baccalaureate program is 45 points, with the three core courses each scored out of 1 point, and the six subject groups scored on a range of 1 to 7 points. The maximum score for each subject group is 7 points, and the passing score is 4 points.

The passing standard for the International Baccalaureate program is to achieve a minimum total score of 24 points; otherwise, the diploma will not be awarded.
