SAT Prep

The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized test administered by the College Board for high school graduates. SAT scores are an important indicator of academic ability for high school graduates from around the world to apply for admission and scholarships to U.S. colleges and universities.

The SAT has a total score of 1600 points and consists of two sections (Section 1 and Section 2) in reading and grammar and two sections (Section 3 and Section 4) in mathematics. Each section is scored separately, with the reading and grammar sections scored on a scale of 200-800, and the math section also scored on a scale of 200-800. Each correct answer is scored 1 point, no answer is scored, and each incorrect answer is deducted 0.25 points, and the total score is converted to a full score of 800.

The conversion of SAT scores is usually done according to the following rules: First, the original score is calculated, i.e. the number of correct questions minus 0.25 times the number of incorrect questions, and the result is rounded to the nearest whole number. The raw score is then converted to a full score of 800, usually according to the SAT score conversion table, but the conversion is adjusted for each test depending on the difficulty level. It is important to note that when calculating the score for the subjective fill-in-the blank questions on the SAT Math section, no points are deducted for incorrect answers, so they do not count toward the number of incorrect questions.

SAT Test Dates and Scoring Guidelines

The SAT is usually taken on the first Saturday of March, May, June, October, November, and December and the last Saturday of August each year. When scoring the SAT Brush-Up, test takers should follow the principle of one point for a correct answer, 0.25 points for a wrong answer, and ho points for unanswered questions.
